Deemples Monthly Medal September 2020 Winners๐Ÿ…

14 out of 113 participants in the Sept 2020 Deemples Monthly Medal played under par. With a competition that's open month-long, we'd definitely be seeing some low scores!

Results of September 2020 Monthly Medal:

To top the list is Denon Pereira with a killer net 56 at Seri Selangor Golf Club on 18 Sept 2020, smashing it with a gross of 76.๐Ÿ˜ฎ His previous best score at Seri Selangor was 82, 6 strokes more!

There was chatter across the golfing community on how this incredibly low score came about, so we reached out to Denon to find out more on his experience of his best day ever!

Denon describes himself as an aggressive golfer, so scores are always with high variance, either he blows the game or does very well.

"I'm still in disbelief" Denon said "I guess I was lucky at the right time. It was an amazing round of golf. To my surprise this is the lowest I've scored on a tough course like this. The weather was beautiful and my flight mates were both supportive and gave me positive vibes throughout the game. Thank you James Ong and Vinsern Liew for their encouragement. They are better golfers than I am and gave many good pointers on that day. It was just one of the good days when things happen just right, like seeing a shooting star. Thank you Deemples for the opportunity to expand my friendship with my fellow golfers."

Denon only had 5 scores submitted going into this game, all in the 90s, and the lowest adjusted gross score was a 93 at Nilai Springs. Based on USGA handicapping rules, when you have 5 scores you only use the 1 lowest differential * 0.96 to calculate your handicap index, which gave him a 20 course handicap from the blues at Seri Selangor that day. Right after his stellar performance of 76 gross, his handicap index has now dropped to 2.9. "This is definitely not something I can play to! haha" Denon said, but totally understands that the handicap index will even out as more scores are submitted.

We had other amazing scores too at Seri Selangor. Zack Mishon came in 2nd with a net 62 also at Seri Selangor, Jazz Kong with a net 63 for 3rd at Kota Seriemas, Leon Dabrowski with a net 64 for 4th also at Seri Selangor, and wrapping up the top 5 is Wei Jie Yew with a net 67 at Kinrara Golf Club.

21 days into the race, and we have 2265 rounds played, and 104 rounds have submitted scores for the Deemples Monthly Medal.

Denon Pereira is leading the board with a super solid net 56 at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, playing a gross 76 with a course handicap of 20, on Friday 18 Sep 2020. This is the lowest net score ever in Deemples 2020 Monthly Medal history.๐Ÿ˜ฒ

Now Mishon Zack is in 2nd place, with a super solid net 62 at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, playing a gross 91 with a course handicap of 29, on Wednesday 5 September 2020. We can definitely expect a comeback from him, to win over his Thorne! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

In 3rd position, we see Jazz Kong with a net 63 at Kota Seriemas Golf & Country Club, a solid gross 87 for him with a course handicap of 24! Leon Dabrowski in 4th position, with net 64 at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, a solid gross 94 for him with a course handicap of 30!

Joel Lawrence is in the 5th position with his net 67! He scored his amazing score playing at Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort on Sunday 6 September. Colin Taylor at 6th place with a net 68 & Gary Kan with a net 69, is in 7th place.

Just in the first 8 days of September, 768 rounds of golf were played, and 51 rounds successfully participated in the Deemples Monthly Medal.

Leading the board now is Mishon Zack with a super solid net 62 at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, playing a gross 91 with a course handicap of 29, on Wednesday 5 September 2020. It's going to be tough to remove Mishon Zack from the first place but not impossible! Anything could change, this month just started.

Joel Lawrence is on 2nd position with his net 67! He scored his amazing score playing at Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort on Sunday 6 September. In 3rd position, we see Gary Kan with net 69 at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor, a solid gross 100 for him with a course handicap of 31!

Last month's winner Ooi SockSiang is now at 4th place with his net 70. We can definitely hope for an awesome comeback from him! Jason Wong & Ooi SockSiang tied at net 70 but with a back 6 net score, Ooi SockSiang took 4th place & Jason at 5th place.

Hanis Hasanuddin and Ricky R is tied at net 71. Using the USGA format for tiebreakers, Hanis takes the 6th place, and Ricky comes in at 7th.

6 players from top 10 positions played at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor! 3 played at Amverton Cove & 1 played at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort. In fact most of the rounds submitted in this 8 days came from Seri Selangor & Amverton Cove.

Steps:

  • Set up your game in Deemples, or join an existing one. You can even play with your own friends by setting up your own game.
  • After the game, get your scores submitted by 2 other people in the game. Hole by hole scores has to be submitted so that the system can calculate your gross score. Your net score is calculated by deducting your handicap from your gross score
  • Prizes will be given to the participants with the best net scores!

  • The Deemples system will use only your handicap in Deemples
  • If you don't have one, just play 5 games in Deemples, submit your scores, and then you will have one!
