This 18 hole par 72 golf course won several awards which include – Top 100 Course, Number 2 Course in Malaysia, Top 10 Course in Asia.

They also hosted various professional events like the World Cup of Golf in 1997, the Kuala Lumpur Open, and The KL SEA Games 2017, etc. Walk-in rates are RM1300 per person, so no one really plays there if you don’t know a member.

4. The ELS Club – Desaru, Johor:

This golf course is situated on the South East Peninsular Malaysia, just 1-hour drive from downtown Johor and a long drive from Singapore or KL (2 hours from Singapore, and 5 hours from KL). Desaru Coast has two golf courses – the Ocean Course and the Valley Course.

1. MONTEREZ GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB:

Located at the University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Bangi is one of the premium courses since the renovation in 2011. In fact, this golf course was voted as a best-improved golf course in Malaysia back in 2015 because of the challenging layouts and well maintenance.

4. Seri Selangor Golf Club:

Fantastic Location: Super near, located in Kota Damansara. Right next to Surian MRT, so you can train there if you want. Instead of traveling through traffic and tolls, you’re at golf within 15 min from anywhere in Petaling Jaya. One round of golf will cost RM125-200 on the weekends.

Number 1 public course in Malaysia. Quality: Good most of the time. Challenging indeed, but both the course and clubhouse are undergoing major renovations to give golfers even more bang for the buck.

Where You Can’t Play Even If You Have Money (Members Only)

1. Saujana Golf & Country Club:

Establishing itself as the No. 1 golf club in Malaysia is the Saujana Golf & Country Club. They were made up of rolling hills and tranquil lakes with two internationally renowned golf facilities – the Palm Course and the Bunga Raya Course – both designed by Ronald Fream. They are hosting Maybank Championship every year.

2. Kelab Golf Negara Subang:

Located in the Klang Valley, KGNS is one of the popular golf course in Malaysia because of its historical background and the fact that it is located very near to the main commercial centers of the capital, next to federal highway.

Kelab Golf Negara has two 18 hole championship golf course – the Putra Course and the Kelana Course. If you want to come straight from KLIA it will take you 40 minutes drive.

3. The Royal Selangor Golf Club:

Founded in 1893, The Royal Selangor Golf Club is best known for its acronym and illustrious history. RSGC offers an incredible view of the city center and a panoramic landscape of the city’s skyline from the 45 hole parkland course. Even if a member brings you in, it’ll cost you RM500 per round.

3. Seremban International Golf Club:

Established in 1952, Seremban Golf Club is one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Malaysia. It offers 18 holes international golf course and is considered as a premier golf club in the state.
