We don’t always have the time to play a full round of golf but with some of the best driving ranges in Kuala Lumpur open throughout the day and at night, there is plenty of time for practice.

Practicing on the driving range is a great way to improve and by using the time wisely, a driving range session can have huge benefits.

However, sometimes it is nice to just step onto the range and hit a few balls with the driver. Plus, driving range fees are very affordable which makes it a no-brainer.

Best Driving Ranges in KL

Let's check out some of the best golf driving range in Kuala Lumpur.

Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA)

KGPA Driving Range

Whatever your preference, the best driving ranges in Kuala Lumpur are here to serve and Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA) is the perfect example. This driving range is part of the KGPA golf club and is located in the Damansara Heights area of the city. The entrance though, is from Section 16, across from Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya.

KGPA driving range is open daily between 8 am and 11 pm, allowing plenty of time during the day for practice, and has over 20 bays for players. The best part is there's an MRT station - Phileo Damansara MRT station next to KGPA. So you can avoid traffic by traveling by MRT.

It may not be the most aesthetically pleasing driving range but it is very convenient. They also have a nice practice green, and chipping area, which not all driving ranges have.

Kota Damansara Driving Range

Kota Damansara Driving Range

If you are prepared to make a short 30-minute journey from the center of the city you will find one of the best driving ranges in Kuala Lumpur in terms of opening times. Kota Damansara Driving Range is open very late and the range has floodlights so you can practice till late at night if you wish.

It's one of the very few ranges that open 24 hours. So don't be surprised if you go there at 11 pm, and still have to wait for a bay, even though there are like 50+ bays. For those who work late and still want to fit in a driving range session, Kota Damansara Driving Range is a great choice.

You don’t have to worry about getting something to eat before you start as there are a kitchen and café onsite. The food there is amazing. Teh-ais is one of the best. But it's not the cheapest. A maggie Goreng could cost you about RM10. But you can pretty much sit there all night.

There is a pro shop if you want to purchase new equipment and even a car wash if your vehicle needs a clean while you play (the Car wash is affordable at RM12!).

If you're not driving, you can even take the MRT there, to the Surian Station. It's the same station you take if you want to head to Seri Selangor Golf Club.

Because of all these features, Kota Damansara Driving Range is certainly one of the best driving ranges in Kuala Lumpur.

It has been designed to resemble the West Course and offers several targets for players to use as practice. The driving range is suitable for both beginners and professionals and is open between 7 am and 11 pm every weekday and until 10 pm on the weekend and during holidays.

There is a grass-hitting area available at Kuala Lumpur TPC which is free for members but comes at an additional cost for non-golfing members.

The most expensive driving range though. You can't pay cash, you have to buy a card, and top up. So if you're visiting, and just coming for one visit, we suggest you not come here.

Kelab Darul Ehsan (KDE) Driving Range

Kelab Darul Ehsan Driving Range

KDE is one of the most beautiful and scenic driving ranges in Kuala Lumpur because it's surrounded by all green. KDE is situated almost at the edge of the city, anything further is jungle already. So it's nice and quiet, and you hit into the water, the balls are floating and there will be someone in a boat picking up balls.

Players can hit balls from a double-story, 45-bay driving range into the water. Look out for the Iguanas and turtles that live in the lake and watch as your ball lands in the water and floats on the surface.

If after your practice session you feel like hitting 9 holes, Impact Golf is in KDE, which has a 9-hole course right outside the range. So do your warm-up session in the driving range and after that start playing at the golf course. Convenient right? This Ampang golf driving range (KDE Driving Range) is definitely worth a try.
