Palm Garden Golf Club
Palm Garden Golf Club is a premier public golf course situated in IOI Resort City, Putrajaya, Malaysia. Owned and operated by Resort Villa Golf Course Berhad. For golfers in Kuala Lumpur, it is a mere 20 minute drive away from the city centre and for golfers flying into KLIA it is only a 25 minute drive away.
The golf course was originally designed by Rick Robbins. The course consisted of three 9-holes named Putra, Palm and IOI. In 2009, they made a radical change and introduced a new 18-hole golf course. Designed by Ted Parslow and Jason Winter. The new double 9-hole circuit is named Eugenia and Bismarck.
The clubhouse is designed in a Mediterranean style with views of the signature hole 18 of the golf course. You can find the recreational wing connected to the clubhouse with equipped facilities such as:
- Infinity pool facing the golf course
- Fully equipped Gymnasium
- Tennis Courts
- Changing rooms
- Food & Beverage outlets
- Driving Range
The Palm Garden Golf Club Course
The golf course is a 5780 meter 18-hole golf course that offers a challenging experience for their golfers. Besides the undulating fairways here, you should be wary of the high lipped bunkers and challenging greens. You can drive the buggies on the course to make it easier.
The front 9 starts off at a fairly long par 4 at 316 meters off the blue tees with a big dogleg to the right. Throughout the first 9 there will not be many water hazards. At hole 4 there is a water hazard right before the green therefore an accurate approach shot would be required to not end up with your ball in the water. The next major water hazard would be at hole 7 par 3 with a big water hazard along the right of the fairway. Carrying the water at least to the fairway would be ideal and safe! However, you can focus on the beautiful Par 3 Condo that is erected directly behind the green! Furthermore Par 3 is hosting some events in May, click here to find out more!
The Bismarck nine starts off easy at a fairly straightforward par 5 hole 10. It’s a constant uphill all the way from the tee box to the green. Following that, it starts to get more challenging. Hole 11 is a par 4 with a water hazard 240m away from the tee box therefore using a long iron or a wood would be a wise choice and then approach the green from the fairway. Moreover, from hole 13 there will be water hazards at the remaining holes besides hole 16.
Notable one would be Hole 13 with water running down the right of the fairway up to the green. Any slices or pushed shots would not end up great! Finally on hole 17 it is a par 3 with an island green. Water surrounding it with green side bunkers to the left and right of it. Hitting the green off the tee shot would be the best feeling ever!
