This parkland-style course, set amidst the highland terrain, benefits from a mild climate, providing cooler and more pleasant temperatures compared to other regions in Thailand. Located an hour south of Kanchanaburi and about 1.5 hours north of Hua Hin, Evergreen Hills is primarily frequented by locals and expatriates. However, it’s a hidden gem that foreign golfers should consider exploring. The course, designed by At-anan Yomchinda and opened in 1994, spans 6,879 yards and features 18 holes of par-72 golf. Though not overly long, the course presents a challenge for golfers of all skill levels, with narrow fairways lined by 18 different species of trees and greens with steep slopes. Bunkers strategically placed throughout the course further enhance the challenge, rewarding accuracy over distance. The most challenging holes are the 16th and 17th, both featuring water-surrounded island greens. The 17th hole, a par-4, is also one of several tricky doglegs on the course, with water hazards encroaching on both sides. While the golf course is well-maintained and has hosted several Thai professional golf events, the clubhouse and on-site resort facilities are modest and better suited for local visitors. International golfers may find better accommodation options elsewhere, though the service at Evergreen Hills is warm and welcoming, even if English is not widely spoken.
