Popular golf mobile app Deemples has launched a payment solution, Deemples Pay, offering golfers and golf courses a more convenient and efficient way to manage payments for games.
Currently, Deemples has seven golf courses in Malaysia using their payment solution, namely Seri Selangor Golf Club, Danau Golf Club, Monterez Golf & Country Club, Kinrara Golf Club, Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Resort, Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia and Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort.
Deemples co-founder and CEO David Wong said: “We believe that the payments facility within the Deemples mobile app will make golfing even easier for everyone.
“Deemples Pay has been something golf courses and golfers have been waiting for, because it helps close the loop with booking a game of golf through the Deemples app. This means that golfers can find others to play with, book a slot at their preferred golf course and make upfront payments directly to golf courses to guarantee their slot. Now golfers can just focus on getting on with the game and golf courses can benefit from upfront payments.”
With over 30 thousand Deemples users across Southeast Asia, the startup is aiming to introduce the payment solution across the region.

The initial response has been very positive and more golfers are using that function to book and confirm their slots at our course upfront. The security of upfront payments also allows golf courses to provide rebates and sustainable promotions for golfers, due to the better forecasting and secure revenue.
Johan Fariz, club manager of Danau Golf Club, noted: “This really benefits the golfers as much as it benefits us. With the security that Deemples Pay provides, it allows us to better plan our marketing campaigns and also provide sustainable and larger promotions and benefits for our golfers as we do not have to factor in last-minute cancellations or no-shows, which really impact the games not just for us, but the other golfers who use our course. We see this as a big win for both us and our golfers as well.”
Hailed as the region’s “uber for golf”, Deemples helps golfers find buddies across five countries in Southeast Asia – Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, The Philippines, and Brunei, with Australia to come within 2020.
