What is Deemples all about?

Deemples is one of the fastest growing golf app in Southeast Asia that allows you find a golf partner to play with whenever and wherever you want. Join available games, or create your own and let other golfers join your games through Deemples. It’s like the Uber or Tinder for golfers. Why play with the same few friends, when you can expand your personal network or business contacts through Deemples.

How do I use Deemples?

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play, register for an account on Deemples, then start creating your golf rounds with your preferred playing date, golf course, tee time, number of players, and green fee. Once you’re done creating, invite your friends using the share button to your golf round so that they can join you easily whenever they can confirm participation!

Once you have a full group, give the club a call to reserve your tee time. You’d be amazed at the time you save rather than checking with friends one by one if they’re available for a round of golf!

How are we different from other golf apps?

There are many golf apps out there that do tee time bookings, GPS, scoring, handicapping, social media for golf, and golf news. The golf apps that do exactly what Deemples does are few. We’d actually love for more apps that resemble Deemples out there, so that we can help each other in each other’s territories and locations, ultimately getting closer to our goal of helping everyone golf whenever, and wherever they want.

This also calls out to other golf apps, platforms, traditional golf business, or passionate individuals that want to help the same cause in their locations, to partner with us to see how they could expand Deemples to their locations and help their community of golfers!

Do we have partnerships with golf courses?

No, at present time we do not have any commercial partnerships with any golf courses. However, we’ve been working with golf courses in Malaysia, golf courses in Singapore, and golf courses in Indonesia to help them grow golf rounds and revenue. There are 2 ways that golf clubs do it: 1) Sharing Deemples with their golf club members, guests, visitors through social media, emails, or banners at the golf club, so that i) their members can post games and invite more non-members who are revenue generating for the club, and ii) guests who wants to play a round at the club but has no one to go with can find a playing partner. 2) Creating golf club hosted games themselves on the Deemples app, creating more golfing opportunities for golfers. We’ve seen many successes that help these golf clubs increase their rounds by just posting games. Golfers that otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to play are now golfing more!

Can I use Deemples to calculate my golf handicap index?

Deemples scoring platform doesn’t allow you to key in your own scores, making it the fairest handicap system available. At the end of your game, you can key in your playing partner’s adjusted gross scores after applying equitable stroke control, but you cannot key in your own scores. Once you have at least 5 scores submitted by others on Deemples, the app will then calculate your handicap index and revise it everytime a new score is submitted. This allows you to have a most trusted, peer-reviewed, peer-inputted, peer-approved handicap which you can apply on all your golf games.

Remember, the Deemples handicap is not sanctioned by any local or international golf association, so it won’t be valid to use for official tournaments. But you may definitely use it for your personal calculations, and hopefully one day everyone will learn to embrace the fairness and methodology of the Deemples handicap system.

Do we provide suggestions for the best golf course experience?

Occasionally, we blog about golf courses and do a short review on it so that golfers can understand it’s features, amenities, history and rates. Every golf course has different characteristics and provides a different experience. It’s almost a different story for each golf course, and we’re always excited to tell these stories to our readers. So check out our blog if you want inspiration on the next golf course you play at, or want to have a new environment for a driving range.

What are the different game types provided in Deemples?

There are 3 game types in Deemples: Single flight, Multi Flight, and Driving range. Single flight is designed if you want to get a quick foursome in. It’s the most used game type by majority of our golfers. Multi Flight was designed for larger groups, that perhaps hosts 2-3 flights over the weekend, or a social club that organises 5-6 flights every week, or a golf club or event organiser that wants to organise a full fledge 36-flight tournament. Multi Flight makes it much easier for event organisers to coordinate, update, and communicate with their participants. Driving Range is designed so that Deemples caters not only to existing golfers, but also to new golfers that want to get into the game. Golf is intimidating enough, where it’s tough for golf newbies to find out where to go, what to buy, what to bring, who to go with, what to wear, etc. We didn’t want new golfers to have to go through this alone, hence the creation of the Driving Range game type. Today, golf coaches and academies take advantage of this feature to also create clinics that enable new golfers or even seasoned golfers to have access to golf instruction and golf coaching at the driving range. Golfing alone isn’t fun, Deemples hopes that you #nevergolfalone.
