Glenmarie Golf & Country Club houses double 18-hole par-72 golf courses that are built from the ground up on what was once a rubber estate where oil palm trees were produced. The history of the land has definitely benefited the golf course in the best way possible by providing naturally pleasant elevation changes, rolling hills and great terrain. The courses were designed by Max Wexler with a similar feel but contrasting landscapes which distinguishes the two. However, an important fact to keep in mind is one course (The Garden Course) is a little longer than the other (The Valley Course). The difference however is no more than 200 meters.
The Garden Course has been said to be the more challenging of the two. This is due to a renovation that occurred in 2010 which improved the overall course including the greens, bunkers, fairways and bunkers. In terms of experience, The Garden Course definitely has a few interesting holes that are impossible to miss. For instance, holes 5 and 12 which are par 4 and par 5 respectfully can be rather challenging in that they water in play.
On the other hand, The Valley Course has the best landscape paired with the luscious pine trees and man-made lakes. In terms of play, The Valley Course is no short of fun holes that will definitely get you going. For example, similar to the other course, The Valley Course provides intense water challenges namely on hole 4. Plus, holes 3 and 5 are located beside the highway and are the most narrow. Thus, you can expect a bit of effort to be needed in this course as well as the aforementioned course.
